Kinetic Sculptural Skeleton Clocks
Below are the clocks that are currently available for purchase. I am happy to customize any of these clocks to your desires or work with you to design and construct a clock for a specific location and style.
If you are interested in purchasing one of these clocks or discussing commissioning a clock, please contact me using the Contact Form or by email at Richard@CedarClocks.com.
Aion-2 – Double Compound Pendulum Wall Clock
Aion-2 is a wall-mounted wooden skeleton clock constructed primarily from walnut wood with brass and steel components.
Unlike many of my previous clocks, this clock’s beat is set by a double compound pendulum that gives the mechanism a one-second beat. The clock is wound by a small battery-powered electric motor that lifts the “remontoire” (winding) arm on the winding wheel.
Aion measures approximately 36 inches tall (from the top of the pendulums to the bottom of the clock), 21 inches wide, and 9 inches deep.
Price – $3800
Electra 4 – Torsional Pendulum Wall Clock
Electra 4 is a wall-mounted wooden skeleton clock constructed primarily from walnut with brass and steel components.
Like most of my other clocks, the clock’s beat is set by a torsional pendulum that gives the mechanism a slow rhythmic motion. This clock has been designed for customers or situations where winding the clock every day is inconvenient. The clock is wound by a small battery-powered electric motor that lifts the “remontoire” (winding) arm on the winding wheel.
This is the largest clock currently offered, measuring approximately 50 inches tall (from the top of the clock to the bottom of the torsional pendulum), 22 inches wide, and 10 inches deep.
Price – $3500
Torsional Pendulum Wall Clock #2
Wall-mounted wooden skeleton wall clock designed by Richard Cedar and constructed primarily from walnut with brass and steel components. The clock’s beat is set by a torsional pendulum that gives the mechanism a slow rhythmic motion. Weight-powered, it runs for about 26 hours between windings and is accurate to a few minutes per day.
The clock is approximately 35 inches tall (from the top of the clock to the bottom of the torsional pendulum), 15 inches wide, and 6 inches deep.
Price – $1800
Torsional Pendulum Table Clock #4
Wooden skeleton table wall clock was designed by Richard Cedar and constructed primarily from walnut with brass and steel components. The clock’s beat is set by a torsional pendulum that gives the mechanism a slow rhythmic motion. Spring-powered, it runs for about 26 hours between windings and is accurate to a few minutes per day.
The clock is approximately 22 inches tall, 11 inches wide, and 11 inches deep.
Price – $1600
Horus – Torsional Pendulum Table Clock
Horus was selected for the Clifton Cultural Arts Center 2021 juried Golden Ticket exhibition, October 29 – December 3, 2021, and awarded second place in “Clock Movement – Wood” class at the NAWCC 2022 Convention Craft Competition
“Horus”, my latest clock, is a wooden skeleton table clock constructed primarily from walnut with brass and steel components.
This is the smallest clock currently offered, measuring approximately 16 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and 5 inches deep.
Like my other clocks, the clock’s beat is set by a torsional pendulum that gives the mechanism a slow rhythmic motion. This clock has been designed for customers or situations where winding the clock every day is inconvenient. The clock is wound by a small electric motor that lifts the “remontoire” (winding) arm on the winding wheel. The power for the electric motor is supplied either from four AA batteries located in a walnut battery pack or from a plug-in power supply.
A choice of hand color is available. The clock comes with either light-colored natural lacewood hands or walnut hands that are dyed black. There is also an option to have one hand of each color.
Price – $1800
Acrylic Horus – Torsional Pendulum Acrylic Table Clock
Horus was awarded second place in the “Experimental Timepiece Design” class at the NAWCC 2022 Convention Craft Competition.
A total departure from my other clocks – This is my first clock made from acrylic plastic. It is based on the design for the Horus Wooden Clock with minor modifications to accommodate easily available acrylic plastic sheet thickness.
The clock is the same size as the wooden Horus Clock, measuring approximately 16 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and 5 inches deep.
